LANY Merchandise

I took on a new discipline of design by attempting to design some articles of clothing. One of my favorite bands, LANY, has some less-than-exciting merch and I wanted to create some new pieces that embody the band and speak to the fanbase more. I received some advice to include easter eggs which turned out to be integral in making an interesting design. Having to consider my designs in 3D was not brand new to me, but taking into account the organic shapes of sweatshirts and sweatpants made it challenging to translate exactly what I had in my head. My favorite piece is the black sweatshirt with a wavy checkerboard pattern on the front and a surprise disco ball on the back of the hood because it embodies the band, doesn’t feel too much like merch, and it has the most interesting easter egg out of my three designs.
